The owl has been surrounded in myth and mystery throughout the world. Being nocturnal, it symbolizes the mystery of the night and darkness. The owl blinks, like humans, by closing the upper eyelids. This gives them a "human-like" expression. Unlike humans, however, the eyes do not move.
